Most consumer shower filters are activated carbon — fine for adsorbing chlorine, fundamentally limited against heavy metals and biological contaminants. Nano Molecular Cluster (NMC) is a different class of medium: metal clusters formed on porous ceramic balls with specific surface area and porosity up to 100× greater than KDF media.
The medium has strong redox ability from its micron-level primary cells. Chlorine is reduced to harmless chloride. Soluble heavy metals — lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium — are exchanged onto the cluster surface and immobilised. The cluster's oxidation/reduction potential shift also inhibits the growth and breeding of bacteria and viruses inside the cartridge itself.
